Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio

In all 88 Ohio counties, the Imagination Library is supported by three nonprofit organizations working together:

  • The Dollywood Foundation

  • Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio

  • 75 Local Program Partners

Together, these organizations ensure that every child in Ohio has access to free, high-quality, age-appropriate books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Although books are free to families, it is not free to the community. Each book is $2.60. Ohio’s Local Program Partners pay 50% of each book mailed in their assigned county (or counties). Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio provides a 50% match, ensuring participating families do not have to pay to participate.

Thanks to Dolly Parton and her charitable foundation, The Dollywood Foundation, books from the Imagination Library are available at a deeply discounted rate.

As a 501(c)3, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio is responsible for fostering growth, development, and sustainability for the program in all 88 counties.

The Ohio General Assembly has generously invested in Ohio’s Imagination Library to provide a 50% match to all Local Program Partners, cutting the cost of each book in half.

Ohio’s Imagination Library is successful thanks to partnerships with over 75 Local Program Partners. Each Local Program Partner is a 501(c)3 organization, and is responsible for promoting, managing, and fundraising for the Imagination Library within its respective county.

Many generous corporations and individual donors support Ohio’s Imagination Library, and help to ensure books remain free to all families.

By working together, Ohio’s Imagination Library is able to send over 410,000 books each month to children and their families for free!
